Implementing an internal Platform is one building block of an organisation’s transformation strategy. As such, you are an agent for change that needs to convince a wide range of stakeholders, from engineers to managers, executives, and everything in between to accept something that will alter the way they work, sometimes radically. Changes that the same stakeholders may look upon with suspicion, reluctance, or downright aversion. In a way, it’s like selling healthy food to a kindergarten classroom. A task that the Platform Engineer is hardly prepared for. In this talk I’ll share some of the sales tricks that helped my former team increase adoption of Adevinta’s platform.
